COVID-19 FAQ and Resources

Everyone has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic and Blue Willow is no exception. Blue Willow is committed to prioritizing the safety and well-being of our staff, clients and their families. In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have adapted policies so that services and response capabilities for clients remain largely unaffected, while doing our best to prevent risk of spreading the coronavirus in our workplace and community.

We understand the seriousness of the COVID-19 illness and will continue to actively monitor the situation for any changes. We are confident Blue Willow can continue to operate to provide the highest quality of care during these very difficult times.

Thank you for your understanding as we all work through this crisis together.

Government Regulations

Blue Willow is closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation in Texas so that our policies remain consistent with federal, CDC, and state guidelines.

Blue Willow Protocols and Cleaning

Blue Willow has implemented appropriate precautionary measures to help ensure we protect the health and welfare of all those we serve including:

  • For meetings held in person, every effort will always be made to avoid close contact including strict enforcement of social distancing (at least 6 feet).
  • Clients will have their temperature taken at every session. Anyone with a 100.4 F fever or higher will self-quarantine and will not be permitted to participate in the program until medically cleared by his or her PCP.
  • During every face-to-face encounter, providers and clients must always wear a face mask. Clients are encouraged to bring their own face covers but if needed Blue Willow will have them available.
  • Clear guidance and protocols are in place to ensure the appropriate protective equipment (gloves, hand sanitizer, wipes, masks) are available for clients who require it.
  • All surfaces will be wiped per enhanced cleaning procedures with disinfectants between client visits as recommended by the CDC.
  • Blue Willow asks all staff, clients and families to wash their hands with soap and water frequently and for at least 20 seconds and to use commercially available hand sanitizers often.
  • Blue Willow recommends that clients take part in individual and group talk therapy, like 12 Step and SMART Recovery programs. Many of these programs have made changes to their meetings and schedules due to COVID-19, and Blue Willow will work with clients and educate them on how to participate safely in therapies and meetings as part of their care plans.

Virtual Care

While face-to-face meetings are the gold standard, our staff are technologically enabled to work remotely in case of a need for confinement or spread prevention. In Texas, the state, counties, and municipalities may have different standards and rules when it comes to COVID-19. Blue Willow is focused on client health and safety, and we will not compromise our standard of care in pursuit of this goal. Due to safety considerations related to COVID-19, if the client and family desire then every effort will be made to conduct group and family meetings via teleconference or other electronic forms.

In summary, we understand the seriousness of the COVID-19 illness and will continue to actively monitor the situation for any changes in condition that may cause us to update our response plan. We take very seriously our duty to care for our clients and team members and we are confident we can continue to operate to provide the highest quality of care during these very difficult times.

If you have any questions or would like clarification about our COVID-19 protocols, please reach out to Blue Willow.
